Morris Brothers Music Story – Our Ukulele Journey 2010 to Now.
Back in 2010, we noticed adults overseas were discovering that ukuleles were much more than a novelty instrument. They were bringing joy, allowing ‘non-musical’ people to be musical, effectively changing people’s lives.
Those who know the Morris Family know how we love introducing new people to playing music, and we dived into ukuleles headfirst back in 2010. Most people thought we were mad, but with great organisations like ‘BUMS’ getting involved, the dream soon became a reality.
Playing ukulele is such a social activity, bringing people together. They say you can’t play a sad song on a ukulele. In our aim to bring ukuleles to people and make the process easy and affordable, we have 4 key elements other stores don’t.
1. A superb range of brands and styles, starting from under $40, up to masterpieces over $1000, and we compare everything to hand-pick the best.
2. A unique discount policy – the only ukulele store where you NEVER pay full price!
3. A team of ukulele players & enthusiasts, who will help guide you, and make the process easy and fun.
4. We work closely with creditable organisations like BUMS, have been the major sponsor of SPRUKE festival and other events for many years, plus run (by Paul & Linda) the Ferny Grove monthly jam.
Whether you are a beginner of an ‘old hand’, we always love to see you. Either in store at Billabong St, Stafford, or our SPRUKE display in King George Square. We will have some great ukuleles and lots to see. There will be one-off super specials you won’t want to miss, so call in and say hello!
You can catch Paul Morris and Linda Gough at SPRUKE On The Square, Saturday 11 June 2022. They are leading the Flashback to the 70’s Jam at 2:00 – 2:30 pm on The Flight Deck, King George Square , Brisbane City. SPRUKE on the Square is a FREE event.
